MCH-Week: Minister Uwimana roots for healthy maternal-child birth

The minister was speaking at the launch of Maternal-Child Health Week (MCH week) that took place in Gikomero Sector of Gasabo District.

She said that Rwanda is promoting access to ante-natal care services and safe delivery by ensuring that no woman will die while giving birth.

“We want Rwanda where women are healthy during conception and during and after delivery. Their children should be cared for and grow healthy (physically and mentally) towards own development and the country”, she said.

During the MCH week, she requested leaders, parents and health workers to facilitate parents access services delivered during this week across the country. 

She reminded parents on improved hygiene, balanced diet and fighting against stunting and child violence.

The launch event was attended by the Director General for National Child Development Agency (NCDA), Ingabire Assumpta, different officials from government entities and development partners.
