New ECD centers launched in Ngoma District

Tuesday 16th, 2025, the Director General of National Child Development Agency (NCDA), Ingabire Assumpta joined Ngoma District in the celebration of ECD day and inauguration of three new ECD centers that was constructed in partnership with stakeholders.

Two new Early Childhood Development Centers (ECDs) were constructed by Parenting Child Care Rwanda (PCCR) and were funded by ChorogUsan, a South Korean child welfare organization.

The Kirwa ECD center is located in Rurenge Sector while Buliba ECD center is located in Rukira Sector. Located in Kibungo Sector, the Ruhinga ECD center was renovated in partnership with Catholic Relief Services Rwanda.

Present at the inauguration of the ECDs were Ngoma Ditrict leadership, the CEO of ChorogUsan, CRS country representative, PCCR Legal Representative, local leaders and residents.

Speaking at the event, DG Ingabire hailed Ngoma District for organizing ECD day saying that it is an opportunity to discuss service delivery, to call parents’ participation and evaluate achievements in partnership with stakeholders.

 “We thank our partners for well-equipped facilities, having ECD centers being established, is a noble contribution to the development of Rwandan children” Ingabire said.

He said that opening the ECD centers is an important milestone that reflects the combined efforts and the collaboration with local government, community and partner organizations.

“We believe that investing in early child education is an investment in the future of a society”.

CRS Country Representative appreciated the collaborative partnerships within vision along the alignment the government and partners’ renewed CRS’s commitment to continue supporting and scale up an integrated.

In Ngoma District, a total of 37,456 children attend ECDs making it 96% of attendance.
