The NCDA joined MIGEPROF, MINIYOUTH and other institutions to commemorate the genocide against the Tutsis
Kigali, May 03, 2023 - The Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion, the Ministry of Youth, the National Child Development Agency and other government institutions working in the same building namely Rwanda Cooperation, the National Public Service Commission, Rwanda Elders Advisory Forum, the National Women Council and the National Youth Council commemorated the Genocide perpetrated against the Tutsis in 1994.
The event was marked by messages, songs of remembrance and testimony by a genocide survivor where all the staff from these institutions gathered at the Kigali Genocide Memorial and paid tribute, laying wreaths at the memorial site and taking a moment of silence, reflect on the tragedy in which, more one million of Tutsi were killed in Rwanda.
Honourable Antoine Mugesera, the member of the Rwanda Elders Advisory Forum reminded the staff the importance of remembering. "We remember to pay tribute to the victims and prevent that genocide doesn’t happen again.”

Prof. Jeannette Bayisenge, Minister of Gender and Family Promotion
The Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Professor Jeannette Bayisenge, condemned the leaders of the genocidal regime who were involved in the perpetration of genocide against the Tutsis. In particular, she singled out former Minister of Ministry for Family Welfare and the Advancement of Women, Pauline Nyiramasuhuko, who preached hate and also actively destroyed family instead of fulfilling her primary responsibility of building it.
The Minister Jeannette called for fighting against genocide ideology and deniers of genocide against Tusti in 1994. She emphasized the importance of promoting the values of the country starting within the family as the backbone of the society.
